Importing contacts

The following steps help you export contacts from a contact manager into Ribose. 

Outlook:
  1. Open Outlook
  2. Select “Import and Export” from the File menu
  3. When the wizard opens, select “Export to a file” and click the “Next” button
  4. Select “Comma separated values (Windows)” and click the “Next” button
  5. Select the Contacts folder you would like to export and click the “Next” button
  6. Choose a filename and a place to save the file (e.g., “Contacts.csv” on the Desktop), then click the “Next” button
  7. Confirm what you are exporting: make sure the checkbox next to “Export…” is checked and click the “Next” button
Windows Live Mail:
  1. Open Contacts
  2. Click “Export” on the ribbon
  3. Select “CSV”
  4. Click “Browse” and select where to save the file
  5. Enter file name and click “Save”
  6. Click “Next”, select all the fields.
  7. Click “Finish”.
Windows 8 Contacts:
  1. Open Contacts
  2. From the Toolbar, select “Export”
  3. When prompted, select “vCard”
  4. Select a folder to save the file (e.g., Desktop), click “OK”.
Thunderbird:
  1. Open Thunderbird
  2. On the “Mail Toolbar”, locate the “Address Book”
  3. Select from the Tools menu “Export…”
  4. For Format, select “Comma Seperated”
  5. Choose a filename and a place to save the file (e.g., “contacts” on Desktop), then click the “Save” button.
Mac Contacts/AddressBook:
  1. Open Contacts or AddressBook
  2. Select contacts to export
  3. From the File menu, go to “Export…” to open the submenu and select “Export vCards…”
  4. Choose a filename and a place to save the file (e.g., “contacts” on Desktop), then click the “Save” button.
